Mads Hermansen celebrated after playing a crucial role in West Ham United’s win over Fulham with an Instagram message.

While it was Crysencio Summerville who scored the goal as West Ham United beat Fulham 1-0, goalkeeper Hermansen played a big part in securing a vital three points too.

Indeed, the Dane made brilliant saves to deny Josh King and Timothy Castagne as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side claimed only their fourth clean sheet in the Premier League this season.

Taking to social media platform Instagram after the game, Hermansen celebrated.

He captioned a collage of images from the game: “A win, clean sheet and 3 important points today. Thank you everyone, for your support.”

Interestingly, Hammers teammate Kyle Walker-Peters was among those to respond to his post.

The defender simply wrote: “Incredible.”

How do you feel about Mads Hermansen NOW? 🇩🇰 🧤

Has he won you over? Or are there still doubts?

That is a fair reflection on Hermansen’s display at Craven Cottage. This has not been an easy season for him, but the decision to bring the former Leicester stopper back into the side over Alphonse Areola is certainly starting to pay off.

The margins are tight in the relegation battle, and West Ham will need him to make many more saves during the final nine games of the season.

Hermansen is having an impact on West Ham’s style of play but his primary focus remains on keeping goals out. Right now, he’s doing both.

Hermansen almost left West Ham United in January after initially struggling to convince following his move from Leicester.

Nuno, however, decided to keep him in east London – a decision that could yet prove pivotal in the relegation battle.

The fact is that only one goalkeeper who has made more than five Premier League appearances this season has a better clean sheet percentage than Hermansen (44.4%) and that’s title-chasing David Raya at Arsenal (46.7%).

His career here in east London has been something of a slow burn but Hermansen is starting to look worth the money the club paid for him last summer.
