easyJet’s first flight from Birmingham to Rome took off today (March 5) with fares as low as £22.99.

The new service will operate each week on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Seats are available to book on the easyJet website and via the mobile app.

A trip to the historical city starts at £22.99 which is a one-way flight, including taxes.

Kevin Doyle, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said: “We are delighted to celebrate the launch of our new service from Birmingham to Rome, giving our customers in the Midlands convenient connectivity to Italy’s capital at great value fares.

Kristin Garrett, General Counsel of Birmingham Airport commenting on the release said: “It was great to see the inaugural Rome service leave Birmingham Airport today, adding extra capacity on this Italian route.

“Whilst today we saw lots of rugby fans flying out for the six nations, (and two additional charter flights to support this) the scheduled four times weekly route will undoubtedly be a popular choice for passengers of our region.”
