Hull FC pair Logan Moy and Hugo Salabio have both joined Halifax Panthers on loan and are set to play in Sunday’s Championship game against London Broncos.

A new Halifax consortium was approved by the RFL this week after the old club was liquidated following financial difficulties last month. However, they have been hit with a 12-point deduction and now sit at the foot of the table.

Meanwhile, Moy and Salabio are expected to be part of Kyle Eastmond’s side, with the duo joining the West Yorkshire outfit on an initial one-week loan. Both players played for Hull’s reserve side against Warrington Wolves last week. Moy played his first game of the season after a pre-season calf injury, scoring a late try. Salabio started at prop and also played against London two weeks prior.

Moy was also named in Hull’s 21-man squad prior to Thursday’s Super League game at Wakefield Trinity, and could perhaps give John Cartwright something to think about with a strong performance for Halifax. Hull have used Davy Litten in the full-back role for the last two games. Lloyd Kemp and Zak Hardaker are two other options.

A statement from the club read: “Hull FC can confirm that Logan Moy and Hugo Salabio have both joined Halifax Panthers on loan. The pair have linked up with the West Yorkshire side on an initial one-week loan. Both will be available for the Panthers for their fixture against London Broncos on Sunday.”

Matty Laidlaw is also on loan at Championship side Hunslet for the next four weeks. He is expected to play against Widnes Vikings on Sunday.
