The decision was made due to intense scrutiny about Andrew’s connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, with increasing concerns being raised about the reputation of the royal family. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing. The two sisters were seen talking on a street in Mayfair as they discussed their father following this news, and forensic lip reader Nicola Hinckley has shared what she believes they said.
Nicola said: “Beatrice starts off by saying, ‘We will ride the storm,’ and goes on to say, ‘I’m feeling angry, but we must not add to it. You’re going to need to be out of the country.'”
The lip reader then said that Beatrice insisted: “He isn’t going to play by the rules,” before adding: “We need to be out of the way, Eugenie.”
Beatrice then reportedly asks: “Why do you think he isn’t staying at Sandringham?”
Royal expert Dickie Arbiter responded to the clip by saying: “Andrew’s never played by the rules, they’re caught up in this web because they happen to be the daughters of Andrew and Fergie, who have let them down big time. So riding the storm is their way of saying that we’ve got to step back. And they’re on their own.”
TalkTV expert Cristos Foufas added: “This is incredible from the lip readers, managing to decipher these two people who are collateral damage of what Prince Andrew is accused of doing and the disgrace that he’s brought on to the family.”
Andrew was later arrested in February 2026 on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, and King Charles later issued a statement saying “the law must take its course”.
He has also left Royal Lodge in Windsor, and is now residing at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, away from the public gaze.
Lipreading the Royals airs at 8pm on Channel 5.
