A huge emergency response raced to the scene

Police taped off an area after a van was ploughed into a shop front in Stockport on Sunday evening (March 8). Emergency crews attended the major collision on Reddish Road at around 9pm.
Pictures and videos posted on social media showed how the white transit van had struck the front of the Styled by Melissa business, crossing the pavement and completely smashing through the front.
Multiple police vehicles could be seen in attendance, taping off the area outside the business, with crews from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also at the scene.

A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 9.05pm on Sunday 8 March, three fire engines from Gorton, Whitehill and Stockport fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a van and a commercial building on Reddish Road, Stockport.
“Crews arrived quickly, made the vehicle safe and supported colleagues from Greater Manchester Police before departing after approximately half an hour at the scene.”

Other videos on social media showed how Reddish Road was completely blocked with emergency vehicles following the crash, including multiple police cars, an ambulance and fire engines as the damage was assessed.
It is not clear whether any arrests were made in connection with the collision. Greater Manchester Police have been approached for further details on the incident.
