Alongside Manchester United’s pursuit of a new striker, reports claim Ineos are also preparing to make a move for a new midfielder.
Ruben Amorim has been pleased with Manchester United’s transfer business so far this summer with Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo all joining his squad.
However, Amorim spotted a “lack of pace” in midfield during the first pre-season friendly against Leeds United, and it is an area he would like to improve.
Reports claim Amorim wants an “athletic” midfielder added to his squad this summer, and it seems Ineos are ready to grant him his wish.
Alongside the ongoing pursuit of Benjamin Sesko, reports from Turkey claim United are preparing a bid for a Brazilian midfielder.

United have already spent £130m this summer, and a potential deal for Sesko will likely take that tally over £200m.
But Ineos are not stopping there, with Turkish outlet Takvim claiming that United are preparing a bid for Galatasaray star Gabriel Sara.
United were linked with Sara earlier this summer, and it seems the Red Devils are ready to reignite their interest and make a move.
Galatasaray would prefer not to sell Sara this summer, but the report claims they will consider offers worth €40 million (£35m).
Sara, a 26-year-old Brazilian midfielder, has impressed in Turkey with some commanding performances in the heart of midfield.
Gabriel Sara style of play and strengths
Amorim clearly wants an energetic and athletic midfielder to fit into his 3-4-2-1 system.
Manuel Ugarte struggled against Everton after being targeted by their press. Amorim needs a midfielder who is comfortable on the ball but can also contribute to an intense press.
According to WhoScored, Sara has several strengths which make him an ideal fit for Amorim’s system.
They claim the Brazilian is “very strong” in terms of key passes and set pieces, and also ranks very well with his passing, through balls, finishing and concentration.

As per FBref, Sara ranks in the 99th percentile of midfielders for shots taken per game and 98th percentile in shot-creating actions.
He is also in the top 10% of midfielders for progressive passes, progressive carries, blocks and successful take-ons.
