Death in Paradise: Exclusive clip from season 15 episode seven

Death In Paradise fans can get a first look at the next episode of the BBC detective drama following a shocking twist in the last episode. Mervin found himself kidnapped and tied up as the truth about his brother came to life.

Back in Saint Marie, it’s back to work for Mervin – but it’s clear that what happened is still on his mind. In the first look clip, the Commissioner and Mayor Bordey can be seen attending a party with a journalist, who has caused quite a stir with his ability to try and bring down the police force and discredit the Commissioner.

A popular agony aunt who works on the local newspaper ends up being poisoned the morning after her retirement party, all whilst she is reading her own final advice column – but who killed her?

Elsewhere, Mervin is struggling with what he’s been through in Antigua and is resisting the counselling sessions the Commissioner has imposed after the case. He later gets a rude awakening from an unexpected figure.

Last week, we saw an exit for Daniel Ward, who plays Mervin’s brother Solomon. Following the shocking case in Antigua, which left the Detective Inspector being kidnapped and Solomon being imprisoned, it’s clear the brothers are further apart than ever.

Speaking about what might be next for Solomon, Daniel exclusively told The Mirror : “Through this episode, I think Solomon learns about himself just as much as the audience do. And I think that journey can continue into the future. It’ll be interesting to see where those revelations and where those spins kind of take him as a person.”

He also opened up about working with show legends Don Gilet and Don Warrington, who play Mervin and Selwyn respectively.

“It was wonderful to see his level of effort, commitment and dedication to the part. They’ve both been in it for a while. Don Warrington’s been in it since the beginning, and they still care,” he added.

“They care about the characters. They care about the story. They’re invested. We had a laugh. We had a lot of fun, but we got to tell a great story together. I really enjoyed it.”

*Death In Paradise airs Friday evening at 9pm on BBC One.
