Coventry City’s Haji Wright is back in the starting line-up against Southampton

Frank Lampard has made two changes to his Coventry City side to face Southampton in today’s lunchtime kick-off at the CBS Arena.

Leading scorer Haji Wright comes straight back into the starting line-up after being rested in midweek in a straight swap with Ellis Simms while Josh Eccles comes in to replace Brandon Thomas-Asante in the number ten role.

Carl Rushworth continues in goal behind a back four that has full-backs Milan van Ewijk and Jay Dasilva either side of Luke Woolfenden and Liam Kitching at centre-half on a day when Joel Latibeaudiere is back in the squad after serving a one match ban against Preston.

Matt Grimes and Frank Onyeka are once again deployed in midfield while Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Ephron Mason-Clark occupy the wings in what is expected to be a 4-2-3-1 formation with Wright leading the line.

Thomas-Asante, Simms, Romain Esse and Jahnoah Markelo provide striking and attacking back-up from the bench, while Jamie Allen, Yang Min-hyeok and Miguel Brau miss out on the matchday 20 completely at a time when Bobby Thomas and Jack Rudoni are out with calf injuries.

City: Carl Rushworth; Milan van Ewijk, Luke Woolfenden, Liam Kitching, Jay Dasilva; Matt Grimes, Frank Onyeka; Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, Josh Eccles, Ephron Mason-Clark; Haji Wright.

Subs: Ben Wilson (GK), Joel Latibeaudiere, Kaine Kesler-Hayden, Jake Bidwell, Romain Esse, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Victor Torp, Ellis Simms, Jahnoah Markelo.
