Joe Tate will be caught out on Emmerdale next week, amid huge changes for the Dingles and the Sugdens.

This week we saw Moira Dingle sell Butlers farm to the Tates, amid Joe meddling to make it happen. Cain Dingle wasn’t happy about his wife’s choice, but she did it for her family’s future amid her being in prison for a double murder that she did not actually commit.

The selling of the farm led to Joe naming Robert Sugden as the new tenant farmer, seeing the Sugdens taking back over the land. But it seems Joe isn’t quite finished with his games just yet.

Amid Robert and fiancé Aaron Dingle moving into the farm and the Dingles considering their own new farm, Joe targets Lydia Dingle. Cain, initially reluctant, moves back to the Dingle home after years away.

Soon he and his family are suspicious when Joe walks in and apologises to Lydia after recent goings on. He then offers her a pay rise, while this also leaves Kim Tate suspicious of his agenda.

When Cain decides to build a new Dingle farm, his family are keen to support him and make it happen. Robert, meanwhile, is touched when he realises Aaron has fixed the old Emmerdale Farm sign, starting a new era for the pair that revisits the show’s roots.

Dubbed the ‘Sugden’s Reboot’, they plan for the next chapter. But as the two families crack on with their own plans for the future, Joe isn’t finished it seems.

It appears he has a plan amid his weird behaviour with Lydia. Graham soon confronts Joe about this, and admits he knows all about his secret plan.

So just what is Joe up to, and who does it impact? Will it go ahead too, or might Graham stop him? We’ll just have to tune in next week to find out what us going on and how far the villain will go to get what he wants.

Either way, the double farm plan and the Dingles and the Sugdens, and the Tates, all taking centre stage will no doubt bring nostalgia to long-time fans of the ITV soap.
