While Tanzid’s innings will win much of the praise, Miraz instead singled out the performance from his bowlers as they took wickets at regular intervals and restricted the powerful Pakistan batting line-up to just 279 in their pursuit of 291 for victory in the series decider.

Pace spearhead Taskin Ahmed led the way for Bangladesh with a four-wicket haul, while experienced seamer Mustafizur Rahman (3/54) and up-and-comer Nahid Rana (2/62) also drew praise from Miraz.

“Overall, everyone played very well as a team,” Miraz said after the win.

“It was an excellent match. At times even I was a bit afraid, but the boys handled the pressure really well in the last over when they needed 14 runs.

“Taskin bowled really well. He took two wickets in the first three overs and two more at the end. Throughout the series, Taskin and Nahid Rana bowled really well, and I’m really happy with their performance.”
