Evil Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) may have ended his abusive relationship with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) but the nightmare isn’t over. Now the cruel bully is taking out all his rage on another Coronation Street resident.

Poor Todd has lived in terror for the past year at the hands of his cruel, controlling fiancé, who subjected him to just about every kind of abuse there is – physical, emotional, and most recently, financial. Manipulating Todd into agreeing to a joint bank account, Theo firmly had his hands on the purse strings and forced his partner to beg every time he wanted to buy something in the name of ‘financial responsibility’.

But this backfired on Theo during his birthday, when he was less than impressed with the meagre present that Todd had got him on a budget. Encouraging him to drink coffee instead of booze only made matters worse, and Theo’s temper exploded when he pulled a knife on Todd in shocking scenes.

However, after months of inescapable abuse, Todd was at such a rock bottom that he actually called his toxic partner’s bluff and challenged Theo to kill him just to put him out of his misery. This took Theo aback, and he spent the night sleeping in his van.

The next day, Todd confronted him and insisted that they couldn’t carry on like this anymore. To Todd’s surprise, Theo blindsided him by claiming they were both unhappy before handing his engagement ring back, officially ending their relationship. Good news, right? Todd’s nightmare is finally over, right? Right?!

If you think that’s the end of the story, you must be new to Coronation Street. Theo’s not done yet, and it’s not long before he’s already cosying up to other blokes just to make his ex jealous. But of course, when Todd tries the same thing and goes back on the dating scene, suddenly the green-eyed monster rears its ugly head. Theo resorts to extreme measures to get back at Todd by spiking his drink.

However, Theo doesn’t reserve all his anger for Todd. In classic abuser form, he’s done his best to isolate his victim from his loved ones. Riddled with insecurity, the bully vile bears a lot of resentment for anyone who’s close to Todd… and there’s nobody closer to Todd than George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley). As Todd’s beloved boss, mentor and father figure, George is the biggest threat to Theo’s control over Todd. Therefore, he’s a target.

Weatherfield’s beloved funeral director has problems of his own. He and his partner Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) have been the victim of a smear campaign by Annie, the daughter of a former client who claims the jolly Undertaker manipulated his mother into leaving him ten thousand pounds in her will. The legal threats and slew of one-star online reviews have caused serious damage to George’s business and reputation.

Thanks to Theo, that’s one problem that’s about to get worse.

In upcoming episodes, the vile narcissist’s fury over watching Todd move on reaches boiling point as he lashes out by making more problems for his ex’s beloved mentor.

When a heartbroken Todd goes on a drunken bender to cope with their breakup, Theo is seething with jealousy to see him escorted home by James Bailey (Jason Callender).

The monster’s jealousy only intensifies the next day, when he overhears Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) tell George how James stayed the night on the sofa.

So when Theo clocks Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) in Speed Daal schmoozing a client, his interest is piqued when Gary Windass (Mikey North) reveals it’s none other than Annie, the woman accusing George of fraud.

Sauntering over, Theo is quick to introduce himself to Annie. Whatever he’s up to, it’s sure to be bad news for George and Todd…
