New local programmes will return to the airwaves in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset when Nation Radio begins broadcasting on Monday 30th March.

The station has confirmed a line-up of presenters with strong connections to commercial radio in the South West, many previously heard on Pirate FM before its closure.

Saffy, Scott Temple, Tony Wright and Stuart McGinley are among those joining the new service. They will be joined by former Heart Westcountry presenter Victoria Leigh and Matt Rogan, who previously hosted breakfast programmes in Devon on stations including Heart and The Breeze.

Selina Ross will also return to the region’s airwaves, providing traffic and travel updates.

Nation Radio founder Jason Bryant said the company believes there is “a material opportunity in the South West and Westcountry region” and that the station will deliver great music alongside local news, information and traffic updates.

Breakfast programming will be hosted by Saffy and Matt Rogan. Saffy said she was proud to represent the South West and was looking forward to delivering content that matters to listeners across the region.

Nation Radio Somerset is already broadcasting on DAB across Somerset and will introduce a full programme schedule from launch day. Nation Radio Devon and Nation Radio Cornwall will both begin broadcasting on Monday 30th March on DAB+ multiplexes covering Devon, Plymouth and Cornwall.

Listeners will also be able to hear the stations through the Nation Player mobile app and via smart speakers.
