Bradford Bulls have addressed their injury issues by loaning in an overseas forward from a fellow Super League club.

The Bulls have been able to add Wakefield Trinity’s off-season recruit Tray Lolesio on a one-week loan, offering them a handy forward whilst Loghan Lewis and Elliot Peposhi remain suspended.

Bradford also have Eribe Doro as a 50/50 chance at the moment after he suffered an ankle injury in the Challenge Cup defeat to Wigan Warriors, so adding Lolesio perhaps eases the pressure of rushing Doro back.

Head coach Kurt Haggerty had spoken to the media on Tuesday afternoon to confirm that the club were in the loan market and that a deal could be done quickly, stating: “I’ve literally not been off the phone all morning, so I’m hopeful.”

One of those phone calls has obviously come to fruition with both Bradford and Wakefield announcing the one-week loan deal, with Lolesio free to play on Friday night against Huddersfield Giants.

Bradford Bulls loan in Wakefield Trinity recruit

Huddersfield will have three loanees of their own after swooping for a Leeds Rhinos trio and their new addition Presley Cassell could find himself lined up against Lolesio in the pack.

Confirming the deal, Bradford said: “Bradford Bulls are delighted to announce the signing of powerful forward Tray Lolesio on a one-week loan deal from Wakefield Trinity.

“The 23-year-old joined Daryl Powell’s side in the off-season from Redcliffe Dolphins, where he spent two years in the Queensland Cup.”

On the deal, Kurt Haggerty said: “I’ve had some great feedback on Tray in particular so we’re really looking forward to having him with us this week. He is a dynamic front rower, he works hard off the ball and he will really fit into what we’re looking for.

“I’m due a phone call with Daryl Powell who’s going to give me even more of an insight into Tray, but I am really looking forward to having him with us.”

Wakefield’s Director of Rugby, Ste Mills said: “We highly rate Tray and know that he’ll be a key part of our side throughout the 2026 season. Unfortunately for Tray he’s behind a number of great forwards that we have here at the club who are performing at a high level.

“It’s key to make sure that Tray is match fit and playing regular rugby with this loan allowing him to play at the highest level against Super League opposition.”
