A man has died following a three car crash in Oldham. Emergency services rushed to Broadway in Chadderton yesterday evening following the smash at the entrance to the Elk Mill retail park.
Pictures from the scene showed three badly damaged cars, thought to have been a Mercedes, a Toyota Prius and a Ford, with debris strewn across the road. Broadway was closed for much of the evening.
Today, police have confirmed a man in his 50s has died following the collision. An undisclosed number of other people in the three cars were also injured.

GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with footage of the crash to come forward.
A GMP spokesperson said: “To help understand the full circumstances, the SCIU are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. They are keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage of the incident or of the moments leading up to the incident.”

In a statement last night Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 5.20pm this evening, two fire engines from Chadderton and Oldham fire stations alongside the Technical Rescue Unit from Ashton were called to attend a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on Broadway, Royton.
“Crews arrived quickly and are currently working alongside Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe. They remain in attendance at this time.”
