Lorenzo Musetti has withdrawn from the Miami Open presented by Itau with a right arm injury.

“Hi everyone, unfortunately I have had to pull out of the @miamiopen,” Musetti wrote on Instagram Stories. “I love playing here, but just need a bit of time to feel 100% out on the court. Appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you all during the clay season!” 

The Italian made his return to the Tour in Indian Wells earlier this month after he retired with an upper-right leg injury when leading Novak Djokovic by two sets to love in the Australian Open quarter-finals in January.

The 24-year-old, who was the fourth seed in Miami, lost his opening match in Indian Wells. He was hoping to build at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Florida, where he reached the fourth round in 2024 and 2025, but will now set his sights on the European clay swing.

In 2025, Musetti impressed on the surface, reaching the title match in Monte-Carlo and the semi-finals at Roland Garros and in Madrid and Rome.
