See the dream line-up for this weekend’s matches featuring double-ups from FOUR clubs
There are double-ups on FOUR clubs – Manchester United, Fulham, Brentford and Newcastle United – in the best team for Blank Gameweek 31 (BGW31) in Fantasy Premier League ahead of Friday’s 18:30 GMT deadline.
Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes (£10.2m) and Senne Lammens (£5.0m) are the first in action when they visit AFC Bournemouth on Friday evening.
Fulham’s Harry Wilson (£6.0m) and Joachim Andersen (£4.5m) entertain Burnley on Saturday afternoon, while Brentford’s Igor Thiago (£7.3m) and Dango Ouattara (£6.0m) visit Leeds United later that night.
Meanwhile, on Sunday afternoon, Newcastle’s Malick Thiaw (£5.0m) and Anthony Gordon (£7.3m) host Sunderland in the final Tyne-Wear derby of the season.
Wilson is handed the armband, with Chelsea‘s Joao Pedro (£7.8m) named as vice-captain.
Senne Lammens (Man Utd) £5.0m Â
The Belgian stopper faces a Bournemouth side who have been poor in attack of late, scoring just a single goal over the last four Gameweeks. Man Utd, meanwhile, have conceded only five big chances – situations where a player is expected to score – in that same spell, the third-best record in the league.
Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) £6.2mÂ
Liverpool‘s centre-back boasts an outstanding record away record ahead of his visit to Brighton & Hove Albion. Van Dijk has amassed 38 points across his last four outings on the road thanks to his impact at both ends of the pitch, combining two goals and an assist with two clean sheets.
Malick Thiaw (Newcastle) £5.0mÂ
Newcaste’s centre-back is the most-bought defender in the Gameweek, earning 180,000+ new owners. Thiaw has collected 28 points across the last five Gameweeks, combining a goal and a clean sheet with eight defensive contribution points.
Joachim Andersen (Fulham) £4.5mÂ
The Fulham defender has been one of the main beneficiaries from defensive contribution points this season, with his total of 34 ranked fourth among all players. Andersen could also be on course for his seventh clean sheet of the campaign, with his visitors Burnley having failed to score in each of the last two Gameweeks.Â
Â
Bruno Fernandes (Man Utd) £10.2m
Five double-figure returns in nine matches under Michael Carrick have taken Fernandes to the top of the midfielder standings on 176 points. However, all those hauls were at Old Trafford, with the Portuguese managing only two assists and 17 points in his four away matches under the head coach, which dents his appeal as a captaincy pick.
Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) £7.3mÂ
The Newcastle star is the No 1 target for managers in BGW31, earning over 196,000 new owners for his derby encounter with Sunderland. Listed as a midfielder in Fantasy, Gordon has played as a forward recently, scoring against Man Utd and Chelsea over the last two Gameweeks to amass 18 points.
Dango Ouattara (Brentford) £6.0mÂ
The Brentford winger has the all-round potential to prove an overlooked budget gem against Leeds. Owned by under four per cent of managers, Ouattara has scored twice and supplied three assists across his last seven matches, totalling 39 points.Â
Harry Wilson (Fulham) £6.0m
Fulham’s talisman is the joint-sixth top-scoring player in home matches this season, with his 82 points identical to Arsenal‘s Gabriel (£7.2m) and Brentford’s Thiago. As many as 33 of those points have come in Wilson’s last four outings at Craven Cottage alone, which looks ominous for a Burnley side who have conceded at least twice in 12 of their 15 away matches. Wilson has five double-figure hauls to his name this season, including his season-high 16 points in the reverse fixture in Gameweek 16.
Joao Pedro (Chelsea) £7.8m
Chelsea’s Brazilian forward is the top-scoring player in Fantasy since Liam Rosenior took charge in Gameweek 22, amassing 78 points thanks to eight goals and six assists. Unlike Fernandes, Joao Pedro has been far more reliable in his recent away matches, producing 41 points – and only one blank, away to Arsenal – in his four road outings for the Blues’ new head coach.
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) £7.5m
West Ham United’s talisman has blanked just once in his last eight matches ahead of the Hammers’ visit to Aston Villa. Bowen has scored twice and supplied five assists, while also earning two points for his defensive contributions on four occasions.Â
Igor Thiago (Brentford) £7.3mÂ
The Brentford star’s 19 shots in the box and 10 big chances both rank among the top three forwards over the last nine Gameweeks, along with Joao Pedro and Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike (£9.2m). Thiago’s hosts Leeds have managed just one clean sheet in their last 13 home matches, giving the Brazilian every chance to add to his tally of 19 goals in his breakout Fantasy campaign.Â
