Self-proclaimed mega-fan Kelly Russell from Cornwall, in the UK, tells BBC Newsbeat she’s loved Hannah Montana “since the first episode aired”.

“I’ve just kind of grown up with Miley and supported her music since then,” she says.

The 27-year-old says Hannah’s double life resonates with her now.

“We all have nine-to-fives or we might be full-time parents,” she says.

“Then we have the other side of our life where we’re so carefree and we have our hobbies and our passions.

“Being able to live with those messages of dreaming big and just never giving up on your dreams, having those messages that still live on today is just so important to me.”

Kelly was among a number of super-fans invited to LA to watch the filming of the anniversary special – something she describes as a “surreal experience”.

She says seeing the Hannah Montana logo behind the set felt like a bucket list moment.

“Seeing that with my own eyes was just an experience I never anticipated,” she says.

And she says meeting the Best of Both Worlds singer was just as good as she hoped it would be.

“She was so wonderful and she understood that people grew up with this show,” she says.

“And now they’re raising their own children with this show – it’s such a generational franchise.

“It was the perfect way to celebrate such an incredible and timeless show.”
