New retail units in Inverness look set to include a £222,000 golf simulator leisure venue, plans have revealed.
Construction is currently under way on five new units at Leys Square in Milton of Leys, which will more than double the number of businesses at that location – joining the likes of the Co-op and Milton Leys Pharmacy.
Planning applications related to one of the new units have now revealed plans for a golf simulator venue – dubbed Ness Golf Simulators – which will enable fans of the sport to play the game whatever the weather.
Drawings included alongside the application, which was lodged by Cameron Harper, show that the unit will house four simulators, each with seating for groups of up to four. The business will also include a public seating and table area with space for up to 30 people, as well as a bar/reception, two dartboard nooks, as well as toilet facilities.
The new venue will be located inside two of the new units at Leys Square. An artist’s impression (inset) has revealed that it will be called Ness Golf Simulators.
A separate building warrant which has also been lodged has listed the cost of fitting out the simulator venue as £222,000.
If approved, the golf simulator venue will occupy two of the five new units – 5D and 5E – but with the internal partition wall removed between them, and access from the street only being taken through the entrance to 5E.
The applications will be decided at a future date.
