Manchester United could have another suitor for Jadon Sancho should Atalanta not acquiesce after Ademola Lookman handed in a transfer request to join Inter MilanJadon Sancho is now said to be of interest to another Italian club(Image: UEFA via Getty Images)
Internazionale will reportedly consider Jadon Sancho if they cannot sign Ademola Lookman before the summer transfer window ends.
Lookman confirmed last week that he had handed in a transfer request in a lengthy statement shared on social media. The player is now said not to be training with Atalanta anymore after they turned down two bids from Inter, with a third pending.
They are said to be confident of finding common ground, and their next offer is reputedly worth over £40million. However, serious consideration is now purportedly being given to alternatives by the club so they are not caught out.
La Gazetta dello Sport claims Inter are starting their search with Christopher Nkunku, but his former Chelsea teammate, Sancho, is reportedly the name gaining most traction. The report highlights that the winger would cost significantly less than Lookman or Nkunku, describing his £22million transfer fee as ‘low’.

Securing such a fee for Sancho would be a welcome boost and help offset any outlay on Benjamin Sesko. At one stage Juventus seemed the likeliest destination for the United outcast.
However, their general director Damien Comolli recently claimed they “have two of the best wingers in the world in [Kenan] Yildiz and [Francisco] Conceicao, plus Nico [Gonzalez] who’s an excellent player. If anyone leaves, we’ll be ready for the transfer market.”
Borussia Dortmund are another club credited with an interest in the player they have signed twice before. Their sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, recently acknowledged to Sky Sport Deutschland, “[Jadon] is constantly being linked with us.
“I understand the desire; we’re thinking about it within our possibilities.
“The conditions have to be right. We will definitely do something, but we’re limited.”
A loan move back to the Bundesliga seems more likely than any permanent acquisition. Sancho would then leave United as a free agent next summer.
