Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale will see Cain Dingle meddle in Belle’s new potential romance.

In scenes airing next week, Nicola Wheeler convinces Belle to get on dating apps. She hasn’t dated anyone since her horrific ordeal with coercive Tom King, but decides to follow Nicola’s advice.

Things move fast when Nicola grabs Belle’s phone and swipes right on Kammy Hadiq.

Later on, Belle admits it was Nicola who had swiped right, with Kammy masking his disappointment.

Meanwhile, Cain thinks there may be more to it other than Nicola swiping right and warns Kammy off of Belle.

Mortified that Cain has had a chat about her with Kammy, Belle reluctantly tells the mechanic she’s not interested.

When Lydia Dingle wonders if Belle’s protesting too much, will she give Kammy a chance?

“Cain believes he’s protecting Belle by intervening,” our Emmerdale source explained.

“After her year-long ordeal with Tom, the last thing he wants is for his sister to get hurt again.

“Kammy’s previously been involved in bother with Sarah, so Cain fears he can’t be trusted. But Cain also needs to realise that Belle knows her own mind – is it time for him to back off?”

Belle and Kammy stars Eden Taylor-Draper and Shebz Miah have confirmed that love is in the air for their characters.

“Spilling the tea” for Yorkshire Day last week, the two co-stars teased a slow-burn romance for Kammy and Belle.

“It’s been a mixed bag because, like, I think for Kammy and Belle, they go on like this journey,” Miah said.

“And I think it’s just nice to have, like a bit of normality, and that, mixed with a bit of banter,” he continued, adding he’s “really enjoyed” playing the storyline.

Taylor-Draper agreed, adding: “Stay tuned.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
