After a planned February date fell through, WBA interim light heavyweight champion Albert Ramirez is once again scheduled to defend his belt against Lerrone Richards.

As before, the bout will air on subscription service PunchingGrace.com.

Venezuela’s Ramirez (22-0, 19 KO), a 2016 Olympian went 3-0 with three finishes in 2025, notably taking out Marko Calic and Jerome Pampellone along the way. Richards (19-1, 4 KO) has fought just once since a 2024 upset loss to Steed Woodall, beating 2-22-2 Dylan Courtney last September.

This would mark the biggest win to date for Ramirez, but it’s anyone’s guess whether it’ll get him closer to a title shot. Dmitry Bivol still holds the full WBA title and the sanctioning body has shown little urgency in continuing to fulfill its old pledge to consolidate its titles.

“Being a champion isn’t just about fighting, it’s also about knowing how to handle the moments when you can’t. Not being able to step into the ring in February was difficult, but it now allows me to come back even stronger. On June 4, there’s no more waiting. I am the champion, and I’m coming to show it to everyone—Richards first,” said Albert Ramirez.

“I am delighted to be back fighting at world level. The cancellation of the fight was unfortunate, but I’m glad it has been rescheduled and looking forward to the encounter. The date has changed, but the goal stays the same. Albert Ramirez is a top opponent, and I know what I bring to the table. It’s two of the best in the world at 175 lb facing each other. The goal is about becoming interim champion and putting myself in position to becoming a WBA world champion at 175 lb,” said Lerrone Richards.

Welterweight prospect Christopher Guerrero (16-0, 9 KO) faces unbeaten Dominican Samuel Jaime Rodriguez (12-0, 11 KO) in the lone complete undercard bout. Imam Khataev, Dzmitry Asanau, Wyatt Sanford, and Jhon Orobio highlight the rest, all facing TBA.
