A man banned from every Tesco in Wales and England has now been jailed. Richard Calvert, 46, of no fixed abode, has previously been handed a banning order on entering Tesco stores.
But he was back in court this week after his latest stealing spree.
Calvert appeared before Wrexham Magistrates Court on March 25 charged with seven counts of shoplifting, which he admitted.
He also admitted two counts of breaching a restraining order after entering Tesco in Holywell, despite his supermarket ban.

He entered several food stores between September 2025 and February this year, repeatedly concealing items inside his jacket before leaving without any attempts to pay.
He targeted Sainsbury’s and Aldi in in Flint and the Co-op fuel station and Tesco in Holywell.
PC Daniel Reilly said: “Calvert is a prolific offender and has been causing a significant demand to retailers across Flintshire.
“Protecting staff, businesses and their customers from this type of criminality, which has created a significant impact on their wellbeing and business, is our priority.
“We will continue to work with partners and residents protect those working in the retail sector.”
