Cristhian Mosquera is one of several impressive signings Arsenal have managed to pull off so far this summer.

Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga are the six new players Andrea Berta has added to the squad.

Arsenal want to sign Eberechi Eze next to cap off what would be an excellent transfer window for the North London club.

But one of the signings which Arsenal believe might have gone under the radar is Mosquera and the Gunners are making exciting claims about their new defender.

Arsenal are confident that Mosquera will be ready for Premier League action immediately, according to Ben Jacobs.

There is a sense at the Emirates Stadium that the Spanish defender will surprise many by proving he can hit the ground running.

Arsenal spent £17m on Mosquera to bring him in from Valencia, and the North London club are excited by his potential, but also his ability to deliver now.

Jeremy Jacquet is another defender Arsenal want to sign and remains a possibility in the final few weeks of the transfer window.

Jacobs told TalkSPORT: “Arsenal are basically investing in the youth market in a number of different positions, then if you look at Jeremy Jacquet, a 19-year-old Rennes defender and someone they actually wanted before they made a pitch for Christian Mosquera.

“There’s a key difference between the two players, because I’m actually told with Mosquera, the feeling within Arsenal is that he’s Premier League-ready right away, and people are going to be surprised by how quickly he integrates, just how many minutes he gets.

“Jacquet may be more one for the long term, he’s a French U-21 international and there is a possibility that Arsenal try and revisit this in the final days of the window.

“What I can tell you, Jacquet only signed a new deal with Rennes in May and is contracted until 2029, so the problem is not with the player, he would be keen on joining Arsenal now, it’s the fact that Rennes are the roadblock due to that new deal.”

The 21-year-old will have to be patient waiting for his chances in North London, given the fact that he is likely to be behind Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba in the pecking order.

But plenty of chances should come his way throughout the season, given Arsenal’s involvement in four different competitions.

Arsenal ready to hand Jakub Kiwior a new contract

Arsenal are ready to offer Jakub Kiwior a new contract should he remain at the club this summer, TBR Football understands.

The defender has plenty of interest from Italy, with clubs ready to bring him back to Serie A after he left for the Gunners back in 2023.

Arsenal rejected a bid for Kiwior from a club in Portugal back in July and the club are keen to keep hold of him for now.

Kiwior is keen to leave Arsenal in search of more consistent minutes, after only working his way into Mikel Arteta’s team after an injury to Gabriel.
