Rangers are on the verge of offloading Rabbi Matondo to Brann Bergen.
The Welsh winger is surplus to requirements at Ibrox and only has three months left on his contract.
He’s currently on international duty with Wales but is close to securing a move to the Norwegian side.
Record Sport understands Rangers will allow the 25-year-old to leave for free but the deal will include potential bonuses and a hefty sell-on fee should Matondo move on again.
Matondo has yet to complete a medical at Brann, who hope to finalise the transfer before Norway’s deadline on Tuesday.
He’s expected to sign a deal lasting until the end of their season in November.
Matondo arrived in Glasgow from Schalke four years ago for £2.5m when Giovanni van Bronckhorst was Gers boss.
But he failed to live up to a big reputation and his time at Ibrox was curtailed by injuries.
Matondo has got himself fit again this season but couldn’t force his way into gaffer Danny Rohl‘s plans.
He’s managed just 26 starts for Rangers since 2022, scoring eight goals.
Matondo’s best moments were strikes against PSV Eindhoven in a Champions League qualifier and an Old Firm equaliser that earned a 3-3 draw with Celtic.
Last year, he was sent out on loan to the German side Hannover, but he is now likely to seal a permanent move to Bergen who have lost their opening two league games.
