We’ve rounded up a selection of NHS jobs with pay ranging from £12.75 an hour to £145,478 a year per annum. The roles include a medical receptionist in Kenton and Benwell and an assistant cook working in a care home in Jesmond. Both give the successful applicant the chance to provide care and support to others.

Medical Receptionist

Salary: Depending on experience

Betts Avenue Medical Centre in Kenton and Benwell is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join the team, working across both sites. The successful applicant will have experience handling confidential or sensitive information and working with the public in a customer service or reception role.

The role will involve managing appointments, responding to patient enquiries, processing clinical administration tasks and assisting the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

GP Administrator

Salary: £12.75 an hour

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) worked Monday to Friday inclusive between the hours of 8-6pm.

Jesmond Health Partnership on Osborne Road is looking for a GP Administrator to manage patient records and requests, handle clinical correspondence and support reception duties when needed. The successful applicant will have excellent organisation and time management, strong communication skills, and the ability to work unsupervised and in accordance with policies and procedures. They will also hold a GCSE grade C/Level 5 or above in English and Mathematics or an equivalent qualification.

Consultant in Palliative Care

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year per annum

Hours: Full-time

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant in Palliative Care to work across sites within the Trust area. The successful applicant will work with clinicians in caring for adult palliative patients with cancer and non-cancer diagnoses within Newcastle hospitals and in the community.

They will have evidence of experience in palliative care across hospital, community and hospice settings and the ability to take independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients within the hospice while providing on-call cover.

Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year per annum

Hours: Full-time

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is also recruiting a Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care and Critical Care Transport at the Great North Children’s Hospital (GNCH) at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).

The successful candidate will play an important role in the day-to-day running and wider development of a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) that operates as the paediatric critical care hub for the North East and North Cumbria region, as well as North East and Cumbria Transport and Retrieval paediatric service.

Staff Nurse – Ward Registered General Nurse (RGN)

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week plus weekend work), covering maternity leave

Nuffield Health Newcastle Hospital, in Jesmond, is looking for a Staff Nurse – Ward Registered General Nurse (RGN) – who will remain alert, focused, detail-oriented and empathetic at all times. They will fully understand and pay close attention to each patient’s needs, and be an excellent communicator and team worker.

Assistant Cook

Salary: £12.95 an hour

Hours: Part-time

Akari Care, in Jesmond, is hiring an Assistant Cook to prepare and serve high-quality, wholesome, and nutritious meals to care home residents. They will create menus, plate up meals, and arrange food trolleys to stimulate the residents’ appetites and ensure a personalised dining experience.
