Rangers ran the rule over Luke Graham again for Scotland under-21s on Friday evening.
Dan Purdy had the Dundee central defender watched as he helped Scot Gemmill’s young side to goal-less draw with Czechia.
Graham was a stand out on home soil at Dens Park. He is now preparing for Tuesday’s latest Euro under-21 qualifier in Portugal.
Graham has been one of the top defenders in the Premiership this season. His performances have already attracted significant interest.
English Championship side Portsmouth failed in a number of bids in the January window, the final one which would have been a club record sale for Dundee of more more than £1.5 million.
The Dens Park side was unwilling to sell while they were still fighting for Premiership survival. Rangers have come into the equation in the last two months and have had Graham watched regularly since.
Purdy has been leading the search and has been watching Graham closely. Rangers now have a string of positive reports on the 22-year-old.
The Light Blues are likely to face stiff competition if they do bid for the Dundee star.
Portsmouth are still very much in the mix, as are several other English Championship outfits and there is also interest from across Europe and Major League Soccer.
Graham goes into the final year of his Dundee contract at the end of the season. Rabbi Matondi is set to be one of the first departures ahead of the summer.
The Welsh international is wanted by Norwegian club SK Brann.
He has been given permission to open talks over a deal.

The Bergen club is trying to agree on terms and secure a work permit before their window closes at the end of the month.
