Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale revisits an unresolved plot point from Corriedale next week, as Graham Foster pays the price for letting Coronation Street‘s Jodie Ramsey walk free.

Fans have been calling for answers over the unexplained link between Graham and Jodie, which was first revealed in the hour-long soap crossover episode in January.

Next week’s episodes see Graham suffer a shocking attack, which brings him closer to his old flame Rhona Goskirk.

When Graham is found badly beaten, we’ll soon discover that it links back to his shock return from the dead during January’s Corriedale drama.

In the crossover episode, Graham was exposed as the driver of a van which had Corrie’s Jodie tied up in the back.

So far, both Graham and Jodie have stayed tight-lipped on what led to the events of that night, but next week Graham’s involvement comes back to haunt him….

“The fact that Jodie got away means that Graham failed in his mission,” explains Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona.

“He’s been lying low since, but when Rhona asked him to help find Dylan recently, Graham ended up exposing where he was – so the people that he’d been working for came to find him to teach him a lesson…”

While this may fill in a few blanks, will we ever learn the full story of why Jodie was being held captive – and what Graham’s part was in the operation?

Speaking last month, ITV soap boss Iain MacLeod confirmed that there are no plans for another Corriedale episode despite the success of the first.

Predicting that it’d be impossible to generate “the same level of excitement” second time around, MacLeod told the This Is Media City podcast: “That would immediately lower people’s engagement levels before they’d watched it.

“And secondly, it would inevitably be compared to the first time and people would find fault with it in some way. I just tend to think, something one and done is great.”

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 8pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
