A man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after a major police incident in Bury on Tuesday (March 31). Officers were called to a concern for welfare incident on Limefield Brow at around 10.30am.
Armed officers raced to the scene and cordoned off the area. A major emergency response was at the scene throughout the morning, including incident response units, fire crews and paramedics, along with police.
The incident remained ongoing for a number of hours until around 2pm. It was later confirmed a man had been arrested and was taken into custody to be questioned.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “A man in his 70s has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following an incident on Limefield Brow this morning.

“This arrest comes after officers responded to reports of a concern for welfare at around 10:30am. The suspect remains in custody for questioning and there may still be an increased presence of officers around the area as the investigation continues.”
