EastEnders spoilers follow.

Things are not over between Vicki Fowler and Zack Hudson, as the pair were brought back closer together in tonight’s episode of EastEnders. Vicki and Zack slept together in January after becoming close while Vicki was dealing with Joel Marshall’s trial.

Vicki was still in a relationship with Ross when the fling happened and, to further complicate matters, Vicki and Zack share a half-sibling in Sharon Watts.

Last month, Vicki confessed to Ross that she’d slept with someone else after he proposed to her. Vicki didn’t tell him who the other man was but she accepted Ross’s proposal as the couple decided to put the past behind them.

Meanwhile, Zack has been struggling financially in recent weeks and has now lost the flat he was living in with his son Barney.

When Vicki found out about his financial difficulties, she offered to let him move into Sharon’s house with her but he refused, saying it probably wasn’t a good idea given their history.

In tonight’s (31 March) episode, Vicki was in the Minute Mart with Mark when Zack walked in and immediately walked out again.

This caused Mark to suspect something had happened between her and Zack again, but Vicki told him it was nothing to do with their past fling.

At home she admitted to Mark that she’d asked Zack to move in to keep him close to Barney, but he warned her that it would only cause trouble between her and Ross.

Later, Barney arrived back at Nicola’s with his stuff while Zack was preparing to move in with a mate in Hackney.

On the Square, Vicki saw Zack and told him it was “probably not a good idea” for him to live with her and a fresh start would be good for both of them.

But Zack picked up on Vicki saying “probably” and asked her if that meant she wasn’t sure.

Ross saw what happened between the pair and asked Vicki about it, with her explaining to him in the cafe that Zack was having financial problems.

Vicki admitted that Sharon would be gutted about Zack’s circumstances, but he’d made it clear he didn’t want her help. Ross said he understood Zack’s pride but it “would have been nice to have male company” around the house.

Later, Nicola saw Zack on the street and gloated about how Barney had had to move back in with her because he wasn’t able to look after him, with Ross witnessing the confrontation.

When Mark arrived at the house, the living room was filled with boxes and Ross was helping Zack move in.

Ross explained to Vicki and Mark that he’d seen Zack in the Square and told him to move in with them, saying it was what Sharon would do and he knows it’s what Vicki really wants.

Outside, Vicki confronted Zack and asked him what made him change his mind. But Zack assured her that anything romantic between them was in the past, just as she’d said.

Will Zack and Vicki be able to keep their secret from Ross while living under the same roof?

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
