Hull FC have secured the future of one of their standout players from the early stages of the 2026 Super League season.

Off-contract utility Zak Hardaker has signed a new one-year deal that will keep the 34-year-old at the MKM Stadium until the end of the 2027 season.

Hardaker signed with Hull FC from Leigh ahead of the 2025 season and ended up playing all across the pitch with prominent spells at full-back, centre, half-back and in the second-row.

That versatility has been evident again already in 2026 with Hardaker having featured at centre, full-back and most recently in the halves in the win over Catalans Dragons.

News of the former Man of Steel’s new deal came from Hull FC with a statement announcing: “Hull FC are delighted to announce that Zak Hardaker has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

“The veteran utility man will remain with the Black & Whites into the 2027 Betfred Super League season – his 18th season in the professional game.”

Zak Hardaker ‘over the moon’ with new Hull FC deal

Hardaker, who was named Hull FC Player of the Year in 2025, has made 32 appearances for the club to date and looks set to feature in this Friday’s derby against Hull KR.

Speaking to hullfc.com, Hardaker said of his new deal: “I’m absolutely over the moon to be doing another year at Hull FC in 2027.

“Getting it over the line so early in the year is a godsend really because it’s no longer going to be a distraction, worrying about my future. I can get my head down and solely focus on winning games for Hull now.”

Hardaker also paid credit and tribute to the fans, stating: “I just want to give a shout- out to the fans as well, who have been nothing short of fantastic with me during my time at the club. I absolutely love the Faithful and can’t wait to do another year playing in front of them.”

Director of Rugby Gareth Ellis added: “We are delighted to see Zak commit to the club for another season – he has been an incredibly important addition to our group over the past 18-months, and will continue to be as we move forward and into 2027.

“His energy and enthusiasm for the club and the sport is infectious, and he is a critically important figure for our group in these areas on both the training and playing fields.

“He is in a really good place both on and off the field, and that stability is allowing him to consistently perform and contribute positively to the environment we are building here.

“Zak is enjoying his rugby here in West Hull, and that is reflected in his performances across last season, and into 2026 as one of our stand-out performers in all areas.”
