From June, Babergh, Mid Suffolk and East Suffolk councils will move from fortnightly to three-weekly waste collections, while introducing weekly food waste pick-ups for the first time.
Household waste bins will continue to be collected fortnightly for those living under West Suffolk Council.
As part of the nationwide Simpler Recycling reforms required by the Government, residents will also receive a new wheelie bin to use alongside their existing ones.
Where space is limited, households may be given a smaller box or sack instead. In addition, every home will get a small indoor food caddy and a larger outdoor container to store food waste for collection.
To help people prepare, here’s a guide to what can go in each bin once the new system begins in June.
