A murder investigation has been launched after a 19-year-old man died in a stabbing in a residential street.
Police were called to reports of a serious assault in Belmont Road, Whitstable, just after 2am today.

Officers attended alongside other emergency services – including an air ambulance – and the man was found with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
He died at the scene.
A red and white forensics tent has been erected next to the Windsor House flats block in Belmont Road, and the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
The air ambulance landed on nearby Westmeads Recreation Ground at about 3am.

Before details of the incident were known, one resident living in Belmont Road said they woke to find “loads of police” in the street.
“The road is completely closed and I think it’ll stay shut all day,” they said.
“Officers are going in and out of the red and white tent.”
