Traffic is flowing again on the M5 after heavy traffic caused major congestion on the M5 in the South West on Good Friday. A crash and extra Easter holiday traffic causing chaos around Bristol.

The crash, between Thornbury and the Almondsbury Interchange, caused queues this morning (Friday, April 3) until about 5pm.

Traffic monitor Inrix reported: “M5 Southbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from J14 B4509 (Thornbury / Falfield) to J15 M4 J20 (Almondsbury Interchange).”

Motorway cameras show congestion further south into Somerset towards the Clevedon junction. The southbound carriageway was the worst affected as people head to the Westcountry for the Easter bank holiday weekend.
