There are worse ways to winter. A couple of months back, Robbie Cannon was in a fourball with Shane Lowry at The Grove XXIII, a small corner of paradise tucked away on the outskirts of Hobe Sound in Florida. The Roman numerals represent the famed jersey number of the uber-private members club’s proprietor, Michael Jordan.
They were playing Wolf. The intricacies of the game need not unduly detain us here, but briefly: players rotate the titular role and hit off last, then select a partner with the advantage of seeing the others’ drives.
