The south-east London-born defender has been a key figure in the Canaries’ revival under Philippe Clement, featuring in every game this season except the 5-1 FA Cup third-round win over Walsall.

With Norwich’s full-back options limited by injury in recent weeks, the 21-year-old has again demonstrated his versatility, switching seamlessly from right to left.

Although Norwich’s faint top-six hopes were ended by the draw with Portsmouth, Fisher remains eager to test himself in front of a sold-out Millwall crowd, buoyed by a huge win against fellow automatic-promotion chasers Middlesbrough on Good Friday.

“Yeah, of course. To be fair, I’ve not played there yet (The Den),” Fisher said. “I missed out last year through injury. So yeah, I’ll be looking forward to playing there.

“I’ve got family supporting Millwall, sort of my grandad and stuff. So, I think they’ll be in the away end, but I think they’ll be supporting Norwich. So yeah, it’ll be a good game to play in.

“It’ll be a tough game, but I’m sure we want to try and kick on from today. Obviously, we weren’t good enough today, so of course it’s another challenge in the Championship with Millwall away. They’re a very good team and they’re doing well this season, so we’ll be going there to spoil their party.”

Alex Neil’s Millwall currently sit second in the Championship table, with a seemingly favourable run-in on paper against sides in mid-table and lower. While Fisher isn’t a supporter of the Lions, he is well aware of the club.

“I’ve been quite a lot with my grandad when I was younger,” he continued. “It’s not a team that I support personally, but it’s somewhere I used to go when I was younger just to watch football with my grandad.

“He still goes now, and my uncles are Millwall fans as well. So yeah, it’ll be funny seeing them in the away end… I mean, home end.

“Of course it’s not the nicest ground to go to, but I enjoyed it, watching football there when I was younger. And of course they’re kicking on really well this season, so of course it’ll be a tough game.”

It marks the start of a tough week for the Canaries, with the East Anglian Derby at Carrow Road looming, but Fisher remains firmly focused on Millwall first.

“To be fair, it doesn’t seem that far away (the Ipswich game). But no, not much has been said really. I think we’ll be focusing on Monday first, and then, of course, after Monday we’ll be fully focused on that.

“I think we’ve done really well to go head-to-head with teams higher up the table,” he continued.

“It’ll be a tough atmosphere going there, and they’re in good form – I think they won 2-1 against Boro today. Of course, we’ll be looking to face the challenge head-on.

“I think we’re just taking it game by game and we’ll see where we end up at the end of the season. But we’re going into each match to try and win it and pick up as many points as we can until the end of the season.

“It’s also now about building for next season, because we’re in great form at the moment and have picked up a lot of points, so it’s something we should carry forward.”

Fisher is yet to find the back of the net in his senior career, despite coming close on several recent occasions. The young defender emphasised that he is keen to change that soon.

“I’ve sort of been working on it. I think the last few attempts I’ve had haven’t been great, so it’s something I’m focusing on.

“Of course, I want to add goals and assists to my game. To be fair, I’m happy to keep getting these chances. I’ve probably left a few opportunities out there, which were maybe from slightly unnatural positions.

“But yeah, hopefully it comes soon. I’m just glad to be in the right areas and getting these chances.”
