The East Cleveland Classic will take place on Sunday, April 12, starting and finishing in Saltburn, and is part of the British Cycling Open National Road Series.
This year’s races hold international significance and will feature both men’s and women’s events on a circuit that takes in Skelton, Guisborough, Charltons, Boosbeck, Lingdale, and Brotton.
Carrie Richardson, deputy leader of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council and cabinet member for climate and culture, said: “This is a wonderful sporting event, a chance to see truly elite sportsmen and women.

“It’s also a chance to have fun and show off the beauty of East Cleveland on television to cycling fans across the country and the world.”
The women’s race will begin at 9am and cover four laps of the circuit, totalling 68 miles.
The men’s race starts at 1.15pm and will span six laps, covering 100 miles.
As the event passes through the region, a rolling road closure will be in place along the route.
Roads will be temporarily closed to traffic by police escort vehicles for around 15 minutes while the cyclists pass through.
In addition, Glenside will be closed to unauthorised vehicles from 6am on Sunday, April 12, between the junctions of Windsor Terrace and Albion Terrace.
The race is free to attend.
