Remco Evenepoel will write a new chapter in Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe after his next season contract at Soudal – Quick-Step will be bought out by the German team. But until then, there are still few months of racing ahead and Evenepoel still has some goals to tick off. Especially since the Tour de France blew up in his face due to a combination of illness and injury.
The ultimate goal is to add a new rainbow jersey to the Belgian’s palmares at the World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda. But before that, Evenepoel will also sport the jersey of the team that has been his home for seven seasons – his whole professional career.
It has been confirmed by his team that Evenepoel will be present at the Tour of Britain (September 2-9). The rest of the team to travel to UK will be unveiled at a later date.
This may not be Evenepoel’s derniere for Soudal – Quick-Step with a chance to race at least Il Lombardia, a race where he came second last year. But if Evenepoel’s bid for rainbow jersey goes perfectly, he might no longer wear the blue Soudal – Quick-Step colours.
