Cracked, the “excellent” police drama starring David Sutcliffe, has landed a new streaming home in the UK. Featuring the Gilmore Girls star as Detective Aidan Black, the Canadian series was popular with fans.
The police drama picks up as Aidan is given a new partner, though he is shocked by their occupation. Rather than being partnered with a cop, the detective joins forces with Dr Daniella Ridley (Stefanie von Pfetten).
The series aired for two seasons and 21 episodes throughout 2013 before being cancelled. Now, you can watch 13 instalments – which covers the full first season – on Prime Video in the UK. Unfortunately, the eight-part second season isn’t on the streamer yet.

“Former SWAT officer Detective Aidan Black is taken aback when he learns that his new partner isn’t a cop,” reads the logline for the police drama, which was created by Tracey Forbes and Calum de Hartog.
“He’s been assigned to work with forensic psychiatrist Dr Daniella Ridley in a newly established unit tasked with solving the city’s most horrific crimes. Their contrasting perspectives and methods are meant to help crack even the toughest cases.”
In addition to Sutcliffe and von Pfetten, the latter of whom left after the first season, the cast for the series includes Luisa D’Oliveira, Dayo Ade, Karen LeBlanc, Mayko Nguyen, Paul Popowich and Brooke Nevin.
Despite only airing for a couple of seasons, Cracked was popular with viewers across its run, with IMDb currently reporting a solid user rating of 6.9/10 from 2,100 logs. In an 8/10 review, one user called it “excellent”.
“The show has the suspense and also the drama… The choice of the actors and actresses is amazing, and the cast does a great job following the role of each character,” they added as they called it a “must-watch”.

“This show contains plenty of storyline and plot development, but still has a certain amount of thrill to it. It’s not just mindless guts and gore,” opined another viewer, who praised it as being “well written and nicely developed”.
A third fan echoed this sentiment, writing: “Finally a new series that’s innovating and doesn’t walk the path of all the others. The concept is great… The characters in this series are, in my eyes, plausible.”
Cracked season 1 is streaming now on Prime Video.
