One of Britain’s oldest golfers is celebrating his 98th birthday by signing up for another year at his local course.
Reg Robinson, from Ashby, in Scunthorpe, plays two rounds a week at Holme Hall Golf Club and has been described by club mates as “remarkable”.
Reg said: “I’m so lucky. The lads [I play with] look after me. If I get a bad bounce in to a bunker, they’ll see that I get in and then pull me out!”
Robinson, a former farm labourer and entertainer around Lincolnshire during World War Two, started playing golf almost 50 years ago and won the Senior Open at his club in 2017 at the age of 89.
