Apprentice boss Lord Sugar has paid tribute to one of the show’s “dear departed” stars who died at 27. The Amstrad founder today posted about Stuart Baggs, who died in 2015, saying he is reminded of him when the series stages its ‘interviews’ week, as it will do this Thursday.
He shared a clip of Baggs tangling with The Apprentice’s master interrogator Claude Littner during his 2010 appearance on the show where the older man poured scorn on his statement “I’m Stuart Baggs: the brand” saying: “What on earth are you talking about? You’re a 21-year-old kid. You’re not a brand.” He won viewers hearts by replying: “I think I might be.”
Lord Sugar posted today: “Whenever it comes to Interviews week, my mind goes back to the dear departed Stuart Baggs – RIP. Such a great character on The Apprentice.”

Brand, who was the youngest person to appear on The Apprentice at the time, was found dead by officers of the Isle of Man Constabulary at his home in Douglas in July 2015, one week after his 27th birthday.
It was later discovered that he had died of an asthma attack. A statement released by the Isle of Man Constabulary said a coroner found that Baggs had died of natural causes.
Other memorable quotes on the show included when he insisted: “Everything I touch turns to sold” and told Lord Sugar: “I’m not a one-trick pony, I’m not a 10-trick pony. I’ve got a field of ponies waiting literally to run towards this.”

Lord Sugar, who is seen unable to stifle a smile during the statement replied: “One day, young man, I promise you, you’ll sit back and look maybe at this particular moment and you will cringe I think.”
He made it to the interviews stage of the Apprentice, which is the penultimate challenge, but was knocked out.
Baggs launched his own company, Bluewave Communications, on the Isle of Man, where he lived for most of his life, specialising in telecommunications.
The TV star, who started out in business selling yo-yos in his school playground, once said: “I work, as my hair will tell you, at least 18 hours a day. I sleep for four hours religiously, I would not have it any other way, like Margaret Thatcher.”
