It’s knockout rugby league, and we are down to the final eight teams in the competition.
Paul Rowley’s side kicked off their Cup campaign with a dominant 2-98 victory over Workington Town in the Third Round at the beginning of February. They then followed up with a gritty 8-32 away win over Castleford Tigers in the Fourth Round during March.
Despite facing numerous injuries to key senior players, the Saints remain resilient and are riding good momentum after a remarkable comeback victory over the then league leaders Wigan Warriors in the Good Friday Derby last week. The aim will also be to earn a second win over Catalans in 2026, having already winning in their first meeting in 2026. The Red V defeated Perpignan 4-36 at the Stade Gilbert Brutus at the end of February.
The Dragons’ journey to the final eight has been a rollercoaster. They faced two sides from the Betfred Championship, first securing a 4-56 away win at Batley Bulldogs. Returning home, they claimed a commanding 58-0 victory against Oldham in the Fourth Round.
Joel Tomkins’ Dragons also rediscovered their winning ways during Rivals Round, beating fellow French side Toulouse 33-26 at home on Saturday.
The victorious team will advance to the Semi-Finals, scheduled for the weekend of May 9th and 10th.

SQUAD NEWS
Paul Rowley makes seven changes to the squad that was named for the Good Friday victory over Wigan Warriors last time out.
Shane Wright sadly failed his Head Injury Assessment from the Rivals Round fixture, so he is now following return-to-play protocols. Agnatius Paasi came off the field early last Friday afternoon due to a hamstring issue, which Rowley has now confirmed is likely to keep him on the sidelines for a couple of months.
The other changes from last week’s squad are: Saints players Alfie Sinclair, Billy Keeley, and Chris Matagi stepping out, whilst loanees from Hull KR, Jordan Dezaria and Bill Leyland, return to their parent club.
Kyle Feldt is back available for selection following the completion of his three-match penalty notice. Also coming into the team for this knockout match are senior Saints men, Jonny Lomax and Alex Walmsley, who are back in contention following injuries.
George Delaney, who missed last week’s game, could also feature for the Red V, as could George Whitby, who is back in the squad after following return-to-play protocols after a failed HIA in France against Toulouse a few weeks ago.
Cole Marsh and Oscar Knox are also included in the 21-man squad list. It marks the first time that Academy talent Knox has been included in the St.Helens’ senior squad selection. Should Cole, Oscar, or fellow young Saint, Tom Humphreys, be selected to play on Friday night, it would be their official senior club debut.
