With temperatures across parts of the UK hitting 26°C this week, many commuters will already be feeling the heat – and it’s only set to intensify as summer approaches.
Thankfully, help is at hand (quite literally), as Dyson has launched its first-ever portable fan.
Weighing just 212g, the HushJet Mini Cool Fan is designed to be used on the go, and can be held in your hand, hung around your neck, or propped up on your desk.
Jake Dyson, Chief Engineer at Dyson, said: ‘Since 2009, we’ve been obsessed with airflow.
‘Mastering air projection, reducing turbulence, and refining thermal technology.
‘The HushJet Mini Cool fan is the culmination of that journey: powerful airflow, engineered for life on the move by bringing elite cooling technology from every home to your hand.’
At £99.99, the HushJet Mini Cool Fan isn’t exactly cheap – especially compared to other handheld fans on the market.
However, if you travel on a sweaty bus, tube or train every day, it could be a great investment piece ahead of summer.

Dyson already has a range of fans under its belt, including several popular tower fans and desk fans.
Now, it’s pivoting to handhelds, with the HushJet Mini Cool Fan.
The tiny fan features a unique nozzle that can blast air out without making too much noise.
Users can choose between five airflow speeds, with the fan able to hit impressive air speeds of 56mph when in turbo mode.
As you’d expect from Dyson, the handheld fan is also seriously stylish.
Users can choose from three finishes – Ink/Cobalt, Carnelian/Sky, and Stone/Blush, which is inspired by mother of pearl.
‘We wanted to create finishes that evoke emotion and context,’ said Dyson Colour Materials and Finish Engineer, Holly Holmes.
‘Bold contrasts for confidence, deep tones for sophistication, and soft hues for calm.

‘It’s about making engineering personal.’
The fan goes on sale next month and is priced at £99.99.
Dyson’s range of products has expanded over the years from vacuum cleaners to also include air purifying and treatment devices, as well as a wide range of beauty products.
In 2024, it even surprised fans with its first pair of dedicated headphones – the £449.99 Dyson OnTrac.
