The seal, named Daisy May Cooper after the comedian and actress, was rescued from Norman’s Bay in Pevensey by medics from British Divers Marine Life Rescue on April 4.
The comedian is best known for co-creating and starring as Kerry Mucklowe in the BBC Three sitcom This Country.
She was taken to the RSPCA’s Mallydams Wood Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre, where she is now having regular fluid therapy and treatment for a wound to her back flippers and an eye injury.
On a Facebook post from Easter Sunday of Daisy, the RSPCA said: “Daisy May Cooper is waving happy Easter to you all.”
Sarahjo Reese, a supporter of the rescue centre, said on social media: “You guys are just truly amazing.
“Thank you so much for your dedication and care.
“She is beautiful and I hope she gets more beautiful by the day with your unending care and love.”
Other seals rescued have been named after comedians such as Romesh Ranganathan, Miranda Hart, Jack Dee, and Greg Davies.

RSPCA wildlife supervisor Jess O’Doherty has previously warned that people should keep their distance from seals resting on beaches, because even healthy animals need space to rest undisturbed.
The RSPCA has said its Mallydams Wood wildlife centre in East Sussex saw a 134 per cent rise in baby wildlife intake from 450 in 2023 to 1,056 in 2024.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue, based in Uckfield, has said members of the public who find marine animals in distress can call its 24-hour helpline on 01825 765546.
