Roger Waters has put out a call for a singer to front his son Harry Waters’ band on an upcoming Pink Floyd tribute tour.
That reads like a bit of a tongue twister, but it’s all true. The former Pink Floyd singer-bassist is spearheading an open audition for an aspiring singer to handle lead vocals on a tour planned for next year. The tour is titled “Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show Performed by the Harry Waters Band,” with the tagline, “The Father’s Legacy, the Son’s Band.”

The elder Waters put out the following statement on his social media channels:
“My son Harry Waters has put a great band and show together to go on the road next year to pay tribute to the music from the golden era of Pink Floyd, and maybe a couple of songs from my subsequent solo career. Harry’s band is missing one thing: The voice I had when I was young.
Back in the day, I could sing everything from the soft urgency of ‘Hello, is there anybody in there?’ from ‘Comfortably Numb,’ to the high-pitched scream of ‘You know how I need you to beat to a pulp on a Saturday night’ from ‘Don’t Leave Me Now.’
Can you do that? Are you that missing voice? If you are, this is your chance. This is an open invitation to audition for Harry’s band. I’m serious.”

The statement is accompanied by a video message from Roger, who reiterates, “Harry has a great band put together for next year, but there’s one missing link: somebody who can sing everything that I could sing 50 years ago.”
As of now, no dates have been announced for the 2027 tour, but aspiring singers can submit an audition tape on Harry Waters’ website through April 30th.
The band will feature Harry on keyboards and organ, and Graham Broad on drums, among others, with the promise of an “exciting new legacy show, full of classic Pink Floyd hits for every generation.”
Interestingly, Harry was fired from Roger Waters’ band a few years back, and started playing shows with the tribute act Brit Floyd instead. It appears that the father and son have since set aside any differences they may have had.
