A major emergency services response has been sparked in Newcastle city centre today. Police, firefighters and ambulance crews are currently on scene near the Discovery Museum following an incident.
Ambulances, a fire engine and police cars can currently be seen parked up at Westmorland Street, at the junction of Blandford Square. Firefighters have been seen climbing stairs within scaffolding at the back of the Discovery Museum in the city centre. As yet, no details have been released on the nature of the incident.
Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were in attendance. Chronicle Live has contacted Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service for comment.
