The finale of the BBC’s The Capture season three has aired leaving the viewers on the edge of their seats

BBC audiences unanimously voiced the same plea following Sunday’s conclusion of The Capture series three.
The tension-filled extended finale broadcast on Sunday (April 12) evening, bringing closure to the storyline developed throughout the six-episode run.
DI Rachel Carey’s (Holliday Grainger) confrontation with E Squadron and her probe into Isaac Turner’s (Paapa Essiedu) death reached its conclusion, while also signalling the departure of two significant characters.
Rachel secured the position of Commander of Counter Terror, though this achievement came at considerable personal cost – having abandoned her principles and compromised her integrity, ultimately losing to E Squadron.
The shadowy unit would persist in deploying Correction, confident that Rachel lacked any means to expose this to the public or challenge their operations, reports the Mirror.

One thread remained unresolved: Rachel observed the deceased DSU Gemma Garland (Lia Williams) appearing in a selfie she’d just captured, only for the figure to vanish from the photograph seconds later.
Whether this occurrence was technologically manipulated or existed purely within Rachel’s mind remained deliberately ambiguous.
This tantalising loose end has prompted viewers to demand additional instalments.
On X, previously Twitter, one viewer posted: “@BBCOneDrama There needs to be a fourth series of #TheCapture. It is sooo good. S3E6 was superb and left us wanting another series. Soon.
Another person wrote: ” Another commented: “There’d better be a season 4 #TheCapture.”

A third viewer concurred: “Is Gemma dead? Is Frank dead? Is D.C Chloe compromised? I don’t trust these scriptwriters anymore We need answers!!! We need S4!!”
A fourth social media user added: “Need a season 4. I can”t believe walker died man #TheCapture.”
Series creator Ben Chanan has previously revealed that he penned the third series with the intention of it being the final instalment, though by the time it aired he was less convinced.
Speaking to Radio Times, he said: “I’d think to myself as I was writing it ‘This is going to be the last series.’ Now, is that true? I don’t know. Never say never, right?
“I think it’s really healthy to just write each series as if it’s going to be the last that you’re not just hanging on to people for the sake of it.
“I think actors don’t mind dying in a series particularly if it’s probably going to be the last one but also if you give them a really good send off.”
