“Expect long delays” say authorities

A major route into Bristol city centre is partially blocked during rush hour after a reported oil spill.
Lanes are closed at Lawrence Hill Roundabout this morning (Monday, April 13) as motorists are urged to avoid the area where possible and “expect long delays”.
TravelWest advised via X just before 7.30am: “Lawrence Hill Roundabout Northbound at Junction with Easton Road Lanes 2 and 3 and the Northern U-turn Lanes 1 and 2 at Easton Way are closed for Emergency Works. Plan ahead, Use Alternative Routes & Expect Long Delays”.
Roads and traffic monitoring site, Inrix, also reported the blocked road. It said: “A4320 Easton Way partially blocked, slow traffic due to oil spillage at A420 Easton Road (Lawrence Hill roundabout). On the roundabout.”
Traffic sensors are showing huge tailbacks at all approaches to the roundabout, with St Philips Causeway looking particularly congested.
