Full-back Arthur Mourgue is set to return from injury for Hull KR next month.
Arthur Mourgue’s return to action is edging closer after Hull KR pencilled in a comeback date for next month, while Dean Hadley has been cleared of any concerns following an eye issue.
Full-back Mourgue has been sidelined since February’s World Club Challenge victory over Brisbane Broncos, having been forced from the field at the MKM Stadium and later requiring surgery on a pectoral muscle.
However, a return date is in sight for the French international – with the Robins hopeful of welcoming back the 26-year-old next month against Leigh Leopards on Saturday, May, 16.
Meanwhile, fellow full-back and off-season recruit Declan Murphy has suffered a slight setback on his recovery from an MCL injury suffered in a match with the club’s reserves.
“Declan has hurt his quad in his rehab, so he’ll probably be out for another three weeks,” Hull KR head coach Willie Peters confirmed.
“With Arthur, we were aiming for the Wigan game – but now, ideally, the week before, which is Leigh.”
Meanwhile, influential back-rower and 2025 Super League Dream Team member Hadley has been cleared of any concerns regarding his eye, having failed to return to the field after the interval against York Knights in the Challenge Cup.
The title-holders went on to secure their place in the semi-finals of the competition, where they will play 2025 finalists Warrington Wolves at the Eco-Power Stadium.
Captain Elliot Minchella is also expected to return against Toulouse Olympique after a week out with a minor hamstring issue, while an update has been provided on Rhyse Martin after the Papua New Guinea international temporarily handed over kicking duties in the 48-10 result against York.
“Dean has got the all clear, so he’s been training with us. Elliot Minchella has been training as well, so we’re hoping he’s available as well,” Peters confirmed.
“Rhyse is fine, he trained with us. We’ve got to see what he’s like when he kicks again, but Mikey Lewis will kick if Rhyse doesn’t – then we’ve got Jez Litten as well, who can kick. But Mikey is doing a good job at being our third kicker.”
