Clement picked up a late yellow card, his third as City boss, in the closing stages of a feisty Ipswich home defeat that contained a controversial penalty awarded against the Canaries, and Marcelino Nunez escaping a second yellow card on his first Carrow Road return.
Derby match referee, Anthony Backhouse, is not refereeing this weekend, after being given two fourth official assignments in the latest Championship programme.
The City chief was adamant after the game Town player, Jack Taylor, had cheated to earn the Blues an early penalty.
“We had a good meeting with the head of the referee department, and in general, everybody agrees about what happened in the game, and that’s done,” said Clement. “So I don’t want to put any attention any more to that. I think that’s been done after the game.
“I’ve been clear also how I saw things, and I always will be honest about that also, and now it’s done, and it’s about looking forward.
“Never had a ban before in my coaching career. It’s so frustrating, also because of the circumstance. But I want to leave it behind me.
“You need, sometimes, to deal with everything in life. It’s not what I wanted, it’s not deserved, but it is what it is, and I cannot change it.
“Now we must control the controllables, and get the best out of the game and do my job the best as possible. It’s frustrating that I cannot do it like I want to do it, but I will adapt.”
Clement wants to watch with his analysts at Ashton Gate. The Belgian’s assistant, Stephan Van Der Heyden, along with Ryan Garry and Nick Stanley will call the shots on the touchline.
“I want to stay as close to the team as possible,” said Clement. “But I think during the game I will be with the analyst together. It’s also a good place that I can see things or even replays in that moment, instead of sitting in the stands together with the directors.
“We need to see also if it’s possible, with the flow of the stadium, if I can get to the dressing room.
“All three of them have the same importance. So they will all take responsibility during the game. Nick is more focused on the set pieces, it will be more Stephan and Ryan who will do the coaching on the sidelines, but they all can do it. They’re a really good group together. They can divide responsibilities.”
