Yorkshire Water supplied residents of a village with bottled water after a mains burst disrupted supplies.
The burst happened in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, near Market Weighton, last night.
According to locals, much of the village was left either without water or with very low water pressure.
A Yorkshire Water spokesperson said: “A water main burst last night is affecting water pressure and supply to a number of properties in the Selby Road area of Holme on Spalding Moor.
“Our contract partner, M Group, is currently onsite completing the repair to the burst main as quickly as possible. While this is taking place, we have re-zoned the network and water supply has been restored to all properties, but some customers may still experience low pressures.
“This is temporary and any customers experiencing cloudy or discoloured water should run the tap for a few minutes until the water runs clear.
“Bottled water has been delivered to our Priority Services Register customers in the area and as a precautionary measure, some bottled water has been delivered to Moor End.
“We’d like to thank our customers for their patience as we complete this repair and apologies for any inconvenience this has caused.”
